MA in Economics
Admission to the program requires a grade point average of at least 2.5 or 2.7 in the last two years of undergraduate study. The GRE is not required; however, it is very important in determining offers of financial aid. Students whose undergraduate major is not in economics are encouraged to apply. They may be required to complete an undergraduate statistics course, ECO 365, and an undergraduate calculus course, ECO 370, before taking most graduate courses.
Degree requirements will be satisfied by completing the common core and the Plan A or Plan B alternative. Candidates may not offer more than eight hours of cognate courses for this 30-hour program. All cognate courses must be selected in consultation with the candidate's adviser.
